If one cannot love and forgive oneself in ones relation to the world, one can never love the universe and the universal mind. The two things are interconnected.

Mar 10, 2010 - Actually loving your "self" is what causes a lot of problems for people. The key is to acknowledge that your "self" does not actually exist. Transcend the notions of "self" of "ego" and all that will be left is Buddha.

Instead, Buddha is seen as a teacher and if anything, Buddhism is a kind of teaching more than a religion. You can google phrases like "Buddhism no god" to find out more.
